??? who remembers ???

this will certainly date me but …

Serendipity hit today. while waiting for some kickin’ sounds to save me from the tedium of “real work” (TM), this track hits the top of my playlist and is followed (I kid you not!) by this track.

They immediately send me 20 years back to sneaking out of the house to catch the loudest mat on the planet to Sahara (aka Dreamo) …

Anyone else have similar memories?

   With Blue thunder or with Christine?

   Christine of course.

   But Blue Thunder - now those are rides worth remembering.

   I remember one session that ended with a group of us trying to pull that ol’ girl out of the mud at Bul at 4am in the morning in the rain.

   Oh happy days!.

   LOL, this one post has pulled me out from the woodwork; the memories would not let me be. reminds me of sato night sneaking thro the back door (tip-toeing bila shoes), jumping over the spiked wall then catching Eternity, Amadeus or virgin islands to Dreamo(that was the bonafide name) and then trying to pass myself off as mature enough to get entry. Sho’ good I tell you! the strategic katikaing - with like minded dudes to break up chick groups, then the payoff - the blues session - with the dimmed lights! he hehe! then the ride home while taunting the rest of the guys who were chrome (bilas during the blues session) then the worst part - having to while away the cold Nairobi dawn before venturing back to the house

   Now, this is a man who DEFINITELY lived the life!

   Your comment reminds me that there was always the pal who got too high to be of any use to anyone including himself and ended up having to be watched while he slept it off outside in one of those booths with the metal umbrellas over them.

   Then, there was of course the issue of the mad scramble for the perfect mat for the ride back to Nai - you did not want to be the guy walking to Mombasa Road when dawn finally checked in.

   Oh, happy days.
