musical link: Baba Gaston
Today’s pick for the musical link is an obvious one really.
If you did not expect this, then . . .
Here is Baba Gaston’s Orchestra Baba National with Kakolele Viva Christmas.

To wind up a great year, here are links to the most listened to tracks on ntwiga.net for 2006.

AOB
+ For those among you who are photography buffs like myself, the XRez Gallery - ultra high definition images a la The GigaPixel project.
+ The race for the White house goes racial.
+ Bizarro 2.0. And his mum insists that “We know he’s not a criminal,” - “He’s a good kid.”
+ Bridezilla! And apparently, there is even a show and a book about them!
+ I have not had a chance to watch these yet but I plan to do so soon: The Elegant Universe (on Google Video).
Click here for all the other pre-1990 East African music I have posted in the past.
. . . and remember the rules people.
Merry Christmas all and do not forget the true meaning of Christmas - the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.

January 1, 2007, 8:03 pmA great site you have here. Could you post for us Baba Gaston’s “Ilunga Ilunga” and “Zai-Zai”. I have looked everywhere without sucess for those two great hits. My other BEST HITS I have failed to hear since the 70’s is “LOKWA” composed I think by Lutulu Kaniki. Any chance of that?
Cheers.
D. OchanLook for Ilunga Ilunga in the next couple of weeks. Zai Zai I do not have.

January 29, 2007, 10:32 amNice to read that my favourite Shauri Yako is still a succes.
I collected African music on MP3 but one day the computer swallowed them all during a wrong installment. They’re hard to find, so keep on going.Nothing like a hungry computer to make one thing about what backups are all about.
I lost a ton of music about a month ago in an install gone wrong and I learnt about the backup. Now, I have so many DVD copies of my stuff all over the place that I stopped being afraid of my laptop.
